THEOLOGICAL TRAINERS CONSULTATION TO DEVELOP COURSE OUTLINE – A REPORT |
Tuesday, 03 February 2009 |
Christian Ministry in the context of HIV&AIDS is a challenge in India because of the growing spread of the pandemic and the myths associated with it. Unless people who are involved in Christian Ministry are trained systematically we cannot expect the Church leaders and others involved in Ministry, to enter into meaningful engagement with people affected and infected with HIV&AIDS. It is also very important to equip the theological students who are trained to take Christian Ministry as fulltime vocation, to understand the intensity of crisis it causes to people living with HIV&AIDS. To address this need, a new course outline on HIV&AIDS was developed in a consultation of theological trainers that was held in Delhi from 26-28 Aug 2008. This new course ‘Christian Response in the Context of HIV&AIDS’ will be offered in thirty colleges from this academic year 2008-2009. |
